The Flagstaff Police Department wrote on Facebook: “At approximately 11:15 am a report of shots fired was received by Flagstaff Police in the area of Bushmaster Park, 3150 N Alta Vista Dr. Witnesses in the area described the individual shooting the handgun as a slim build Native American male approximately 20-30 years old wearing all black and possibly having a tattoo on his arms. No injuries were reported at Bushmaster Park.”
The department further added that the suspect fled the scene. Local media outlets said that schools are in a shelter in place due to a police situation ongoing at Bushmaster Park.
Law enforcement personnel are actively following up on leads and searching for the individual who was reported to have fled in a north to west direction from Bushmaster Park after the shooting. A man “came up and asked for a cigarette, then threatened to shoot the park up,” according to a witness who spoke to the police police.
