Gaylord Angst Obituary – The victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash involving a deputy from the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office has been identified by local officials. According to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Gaylord Angst, an 81-year-old resident of Florence, lost his life in the crash that occurred near Lolo on Tuesday morning.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office served as the coroner for this tragic incident. The collision took place close to mile post 80 on Highway 93 South. Although authorities have provided limited information about the incident, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office confirmed that the crash did not occur during a pursuit. Angst sadly passed away at the scene, while the deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Montana Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the collision. Angst’s body has been transported to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
