In the quiet early hours of Sunday morning, a routine pizza delivery in Houston took a tragic turn, leaving one man dead and questions swirling about the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), the events unfolded at a Yellowstone Boulevard condominium complex off Highway 288 near Highway 90 East around 12:40 a.m.
HPD identified the victim as a customer, while the shooter was the pizza delivery driver, who miraculously emerged from the encounter unscathed. Reportedly, two males accosted the delivery driver, demanding money at gunpoint.
In a moment of harrowing self-defense, the driver drew his own firearm and fired, fatally shooting one of the assailants. The second man fled the scene, evading capture. HPD Sergeant Mark Holbrook expressed bewilderment over the turn of events, stating, “We’re not sure how the pizza delivery went so wrong that somebody wound up getting shot. Why did you have a gun if you were the pizza delivery guy? Why were you armed?”
