The UConn football program announced home opponents and dates for next season, with seven games slated for Rentschler Field.
The 2026 season will kick off a new era under head coach Jason Candle, and the Huskies will begin the campaign by hosting Lafayette on Sept. 5. It will be the first meeting between the schools since Lafayette beat UConn, 20-13, back in 1984, when both were members of NCAA Division I-AA.
The Huskies will then face Big Ten opponent Maryland on Sept. 12, followed by a pair of ACC opponents, as Syracuse comes to East Hartford on Oct. 3 and Bill Belichick’s North Carolina on Nov. 7.
UMass will travel to East Hartford on Oct. 24, and then James Madison, a College Football Playoff team this season, will be at the Rent for the first time ever on Nov. 14.
The 2026 home slate concludes on Saturday, November 21 against the Old Dominion. The Huskies will celebrate “Senior Day” with a first-ever match-up against the Monarchs.
The full 2026 schedule will be released at a later date.
