Police are investigating a smash-and-grab theft at a jewelry store in Bristol on Monday.
The theft was reported at Kay Jewelers at 594 Farmington Ave. around 6:30 p.m. after two masked individuals entered the store and broke open display cases with a hammer, according to the Bristol Police Department.
The pair stole jewelry from the broken cases and fled, police said. Store employees were not able to immediately determine the loss suffered by the store and were expected to conduct an inventory, according to police.
The theft remains under investigation by the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
