Sam Karagavoorian Obituary – An 80-year-old man has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Bureau as the victim of a fatal golf cart crash. The man, Sam Karagavoorian of Palm Desert, was pronounced dead at Desert Regional Medical Center due to injuries sustained in the collision.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Bonanza Drive and Mojave Sage Street in a private country club community. Initially classified as a “major injury,” the crash was later determined to be a fatality. Karagavoorian had already been taken to the hospital by the time California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle involved remained at the intersection and cooperated with authorities. Preliminary investigations did not suggest the involvement of drugs or alcohol. Individuals with any relevant information were urged to contact the Indio CHP office at 760-772-5300.
