Carlos Parra Car Accident: Singer and Lead Vocalist of Los Parras, Phoenix Norteño Band Dies in Tragic Car Accident
Carlos Parra, lead vocalist of the Phoenix Norteño band Los Parras, died in a car accident on Saturday. On Sunday, the group confirmed the 26-year-old’s death through their social media pages. “To all friends, family, and fans of the group… with a broken heart, we want to inform you that yesterday we had a car accident in which our brother, Carlos Parra, lost his life. RIP little brother, we love you,” the post read in Spanish.
Los Parras, or “The Parras” in English, is a local Regional Mexican band composed of three brothers, twins Carlos and César, and their older brother Cristhian. They are originally from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, but live in the Valley. Sources tell 12News the car crash happened in Mexico, on the outskirts of Nogales en route to Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, as Carlos and other family members were to celebrate Cristhian’s birthday.
The car Carlos was in hit a pothole, causing it to lose a tire, and the vehicle to roll, 12News learned. The 26-year-old was instantly killed. His brothers and little sister witness the crash, but they were not injured. Carlos died the same day as his older brother’s birthday, May 6. Along with a verse from their song “Por Verte Feliz,” the group dedicated a message to their followers about Carlos’ lasting memory. “To see you happy, I would give everything, so don’t cry my departure if God called me into his arms.
“A genuine sibling transcends age, time, and distance… it endures eternally within the heart,” they expressed. Los Parras was preparing to embark on a tour of Mexico in the near future. Immediate information regarding the accident was not provided. Carlos’ family has informed 12News that a visitation for fans to bid their final farewell will take place on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The event will be hosted at Legends Event Center, located at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road
