The unsettling disappearance of Ana Maria Henao Knezevich, a Colombian native who vanished in Spain back in February, has taken a distressing turn with the recent arrest of her estranged husband, David Knezevich, in Miami on a kidnapping charge related to her case.
In a poignant news conference held in Fort Lauderdale, Ana’s family pleaded for assistance in locating her, hoping against hope for her safe return. Ana was last seen on February 2 in Madrid, leaving behind a trail of worry and unanswered questions.
Recalling their last conversation with Ana, her brother Felipe Henao shared, “The last time I spoke to her on the phone was on January 24. She was happy and optimistic about the future.” Ana, who had previously resided in Fort Lauderdale, had relocated to Madrid in December amidst reports of her separation from David Knezevich.
The family’s ordeal escalated when David was apprehended at Miami International Airport last Saturday upon his arrival from Serbia. He was promptly arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. Felipe Henao expressed the profound impact of the situation on their family, particularly their mother, saying, “It’s been a very devastating time for us, we’re still in shock.”
Desperate for any information about Ana’s whereabouts, the family implores anyone with knowledge of her location to come forward. “We still have hope that we can find where my sister is. If she’s out there somewhere, we just want to tell her we all love her, we miss her, we support her, and we hear her voice,” Felipe Henao emphasized. “If anyone knows anything about my sister, if anyone has any information, please tell us.”
Meanwhile, the FBI has intensified its investigation into Ana’s disappearance, presenting a compelling case implicating David Knezevich. However, despite their efforts, there are no clear leads yet on what may have happened to Ana after she vanished from her apartment in Spain. The family remains steadfast in their quest for answers and closure, clinging to the hope that Ana will be found safe and sound.
