Scott Edward Knox Death – Scott Edward Knox, a 33-year-old resident of Wilkes-Barre, has been identified as the man who died at a hospital after being found with stab wounds. The Luzerne County coroner’s office confirmed Knox’s identity on Wednesday following an autopsy, which determined that he died as a result of multiple stab wounds. The coroner’s office has classified Knox’s death as a homicide.
The incident occurred when Wilkes-Barre police responded to a reported stabbing in the vicinity of 377 S. River St. Knox was discovered behind a residence shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Emergency medical technicians provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting him to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities believe that Knox was stabbed near the Mofon Lounge at the intersection of Academy and South River streets and Carey Avenue. As a result, a significant portion of the area was closed off to both vehicles and pedestrians while Pennsylvania State Police, Troop P, Forensic Services Unit processed the scene. Numerous evidence markers were placed on the ground, including next to visible blood spatter leading from behind the night club to South River Street.
The distance between the night club and the location where Knox was found is approximately 100 yards. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact city police Detective Joseph Sinavage at 570-208-6676.
