A pedestrian was taken to a hospital after being hit by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Manchester on Friday morning, which led to one side of the highway being shut down.
The crash was reported just after 8 a.m. on I-84 West in the area of Exit 59, according to Connecticut State Police.
State police said the pedestrian suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital. The severity of the injuries was not immediately clear.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the westbound side of the highway was shut down between Exits 58 and 59. Drivers were asked to use alternative routes.
The crash remains under investigation.
