Exauce T. Kabeya Obituary: On May 3, a 19-year-old hiker tragically lost his life after falling into Tallulah River above Oceana Falls in Tallulah Gorge. A search operation was initiated at approximately 12:40 p.m. on the same day to locate the hiker, and the body was successfully retrieved from the river a few hours later.
The deceased hiker was identified as Exauce T. Kabeya from Gainesville, as reported by NowHabersham.com.
Numerous agencies collaborated in the search efforts, which included the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol Aviation, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Emergency Services, Tallulah Falls Police and Fire Rescue, Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Lee Arrendale State Prison, and other organizations.
