The Conservation Education/Firearms Safety Program is offering a venison processing workshop on Feb. 1 at Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area in Burlington. Two seminars will be held on Feb. 1, with one starting at 9 a.m. and the other starting at 1:30 p.m.
An additional workshop date is scheduled for Feb. 7 at Franklin Swamp Wildlife Management Area, located at 391 Route 32 North Franklin. Two seminars are planned, including one starting at 9 a.m. and the other starting at 1:30 p.m.
The workshop will guide participants through all the steps of taking a deer from whole animal to a freezer-ready, packaged venison. The workshop team includes a professionally trained butcher and a cadre of experienced deer hunters.
