David Thomas Fairchild Identified As Man Killed In Saturday Crash
The Texas Department of Public Safety has made further information on the deadly collision that occurred on FM 2105 on Saturday, April 27th, at 7:05 p.m. available.
David Thomas Fairchild, 68, a San Angelo resident, has been identified as the guy who perished in the tragedy. Fairchild had turned into FM 2105 from a private road, heading west in a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup.
Timothy James Clark, 43, of San Angelo, was hit from behind by Timothy James Clark’s 2004 Ford F-250 while he was changing into the westbound lane.
After the crash, Fairchild slowed down and came to a stop, but Clark crossed the center line, struck a fence, and then rolled onto its side before stopping upright at the entrance to Oilfield Drive on the north side of FM 2105.
Clark was tragically declared dead at the spot, and it was found that he had not fastened his seatbelt. Conversely, Fairchild managed to get away from the situation unscathed.
The road was dry and there was still daylight when the incident occurred. The posted speed limit at the scene is 60 mph. DPS Trooper Nicholas Easter conducted the investigation, with assistance from the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office at the crash scene. After a delay, the preliminary crash report changed the reported time of the call for assistance from 7:19 p.m. to 7:05 p.m.
