Tania Rodriguez of Springfield, Tennessee, Dies In Fatal Robertson County Car Crash
Authorities disclosed on Monday a recalibration of the casualties resulting from a tragic vehicular incident on a Tennessee highway over the weekend, revealing that four young girls aged between 1 and 12 perished, contrary to the initial count of six.
Emergency personnel made a gruesome discovery at the scene of the collision on Interstate 24 in Robertson County early on Sunday morning, around 2 a.m., according to Brent Dyer, the director of the county’s emergency management services office. A car, bearing the weight of extensive damage, lay overturned.
Initial communications from the Robertson County EMS detailed the distressing sight encountered by first responders, where six females, spanning from ages 1 to 18, had been ejected from the vehicle and were beyond resuscitation efforts.
The Toyota Camry involved was named in a later report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, which also increased the number of occupants to eight.
Revised statistics delineated the age distribution of the deceased, reducing the count of youths to four girls and adding two adults to the somber tally.
All six fatalities were occupants of the Camry, with the girls’ ages specified as 1, 3, 5, and 12. However, their identities remained undisclosed.
Among those who succumbed to the tragedy was the driver of the Camry, identified as Tania Rodriguez, aged 21.
Another victim was identified as Rina Reyes, 35, a passenger in the Camry. Two surviving passengers, Saira Reyes, 34, and Anthony Gellardo, 18, sustained injuries, as per the highway patrol’s statement.
Remarkably, of the eight individuals present in the Camry, only Gellardo had fastened a seat belt.
