FOX13 was able to get court documents pertaining to the allegation of first-degree murder against Montrell Kinds, a 17-year-old teenager from Memphis.
A day after the incident, he was discovered in the car of the deceased man and taken into custody. The victim’s age was kept a secret; Javodrick Gordon was the name given.
After responding to a shooting on Cloister Street, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) found the guy deceased from gunshot wounds to his head and torso. Gordon may have been asleep when he passed away, according to investigators, as there were no indications of a struggle or forced entry.
Community youth advocate Lisa Mull voiced concerns regarding the neighbourhood’s cycle of violence. Gordon’s cousin discovered him dead on the bed from gunshot wounds after he had not been heard from for at least a day. In the bedroom, two expended casings were discovered.
The investigators also found Gordon’s recently purchased 2017 Infiniti QX80 missing from his residence. Eventually, the GPS-equipped automobile was discovered stalled on Shelby Drive. Kinds, the driver, was taken into custody at a residence on Baywind Cove.
Kinds later admitted to the police that he had contacted Gordon to ask for a place to stay, but the two had gotten into a quarrel. Gordon was shot by Kinds, who allegedly discovered a gun under his pillow, took his car and rifle, and fled the scene.
