Korey Cunningham, the former offensive lineman for the New York Giants, was found dead in his home at 28, PEOPLE has confirmed.
On April 25, just before 3:30 pm local time, police and medical responders arrived on the scene at Cunningham’s Clifton, New Jersey, home following reports that a man was unconscious, according to local outlet RLS Media.
Authorities discovered Cunningham after arriving at the scene, notified the medical examiner, and transported his body to a nearby hospital, according to RLS Media.
The Clifton Police Department tells people that at this time, the cause of Cunningham’s death is currently under investigation, but they confirmed that his death was not the result of foul play.
Following the news of Cunningham’s death, the New York Giants released a statement shared on X (previously known as Twitter).
“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Korey Cunningham. He was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room. Our thoughts are with Korey’s family, friends and teammates.”
