Caden Mura Obituary – Indiana State Police are currently conducting an investigation into the shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man near a park in Valparaiso. The Valparaiso Police Department and the Porter County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding a suspicious individual allegedly brandishing a handgun in the vicinity of Fairgrounds Park at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
As the officers approached the man, he fled towards Calumet Avenue, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the officers. The man, identified as 20-year-old Caden Mura of Valparaiso, sustained gunshot wounds and was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The sequence of events leading to the exchange of gunfire remains unclear at this time.
