Clint Hoyhtya Obituary – The man who was killed during a shootout in Minnetonka on Wednesday has been identified as 28-year-old Clint Hoyhtya by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
He died from multiple gunshot wounds after exchanging gunfire with law enforcement officials while they were serving a warrant at a home.
Two Hennepin County sheriff’s deputies were injured during the incident, with one being treated on the scene and the other being transported to a hospital. Deputy Christopher Heihn, who was one of the injured deputies, has since been released from the hospital.
He has been working for Hennepin County since 2016 and is currently part of the Enforcement Services Division. He is a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and also serves on the HCSO Emergency Services Unit as a range safety officer and firearms instructor.
The specific details of the warrant have not been disclosed by officials, but it is known that Hennepin County deputies were assisting Minnetonka officers in the Glen Lake neighborhood during the operation.
Minnetonka Police Chief Scott Boerboom emphasized the importance of mutual aid during a press conference, stating that cooperation between agencies is crucial in ensuring the safety of everyone involved in such incidents.
