A Bridgeport man died after being shot inside of an after-hours club in Bridgeport early Sunday morning, according to Shawnna White, the public information officer for the city’s Office of Emergency Management.
The Bridgeport Police Department responded shorty after 3 a.m. to several 911 calls of a man shot and in serious condition on the 900 block of Noble Avenue.
Bridgeport police saw “numerous persons leaving what appeared to be an illegal club,” according to White.
Police found Jordan Thompson, 31, of Bridgeport critically injured inside of the club. Thompson was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said Thompson’s next of kin was notified and this was the first homicide in Bridgeport in 2026.
Detectives are investigating the incident and the city’s Major Crimes Unit and processed the scene on Sunday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Thomas Harper of the Homicide Unit at (203) 581-5239.
