Harry Wells Obituary – On Friday, April 5, 2024, Harry Thomas “Tommy” Wells, who was 71 years old, passed away due to his illness at his apartment. Roanoke Rapids was his current place of residence, although he had been a resident of Weldon in the past. It was when Tommy was seventeen years old that he started working for J.P. Stevens Company. In the past, he had received his retirement from the West Point Military Academy. During the years that followed his retirement, he worked at Schewel’s Furniture for a shorter amount of time than he had previously worked there.
Both of Tommy’s parents, Norwood Hampton Wells and Lois Etheridge Wells, had died away before to his birth. Tommy was born and lived in Halifax County, and his parents named him after themselves. Prior to his passing, his wife, Kathy Wells, as well as his siblings Linda Griffin, Jerry Wells, and Carlton Wells, and his grandson, Thomas Wells, all went away. He was the only surviving member of his family. He is survived by his children, LaDonna Wade (Brad) of Roanoke Rapids, Beth Batten (Gary) of Roanoke Rapids, Brian Wells (Leslie) of Archdale;.
His grandchildren, Brook Kirby (CG), Taylor Salmon (Cameron), Rylie, Kylie, Skyler “Peanut” and Sofie Wade, Brandon Coker (Erica), Austyn and A.J. Batten, Wesley, Will and Watson Wells and eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley Tidwell of Roanoke Rapids, Hugh Wells (Connie) of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Anne Wells and Angela Wells, both of Roanoke Rapids and several nieces and nephews. The Wade family will be present to meet and greet visitors at the house of LaDonna Wade, which can be found at 702 Stoney Brook Drive, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina 27870.
On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM, a memorial service will be held in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services. The service will be held in honor of the deceased. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, the family will be present at the funeral home to greet guests. An event will be conducted in memory of the person who has passed away.
