One person is dead following a fire at a condominium building in Waterbury on Tuesday.
Crews responded to 100 Mark Lane shortly after 6 a.m. and found heavy fire coming from the front door and a first floor window, according to Capt. Edward Partridge of the Waterbury Fire Department.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack of the fire and, after putting out the flames, found a man dead inside, Partridge said. His identity was not immediately released.
Crews throughout the morning continued overhaul efforts to ensure no flames were hidden in the walls or ceilings of structure.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Waterbury Office of the Fire Marshal.
