Amy Cole Obituary, Death – Amy Nicole Cole came into this world in Houston, Texas on October 14, 1970. She died quietly in New York, NY on March 31, 2024, following a short illness. Many people counted her as a friend, colleague, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her compassionate personality and talent for making people feel valued were hallmarks of Amy’s life. Providing exceptional care to others was clearly her life’s work, and she was clearly born to do it. For those lucky enough to have known Amy, she was the epitome of a caregiver.
She had an unmatched talent for making friends for life, and her passion for travel let her spread kindness all across the world. A dedicated caregiver by trade, Amy set out on her professional career after graduating from St. Agnes Academy, Texas Tech University, and Wheelock College. After finishing college, she found a job in New Jersey caring for children. She then became a Child Life Specialist at Houston’s Texas Children’s Hospital after completing her Master’s degree in the field.
Amy left Houston and relocated to Manhattan in 2002, driven by her adventurous attitude. Her television credits include roles as an executive assistant and production assistant on series including Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, Colin Quinn’s Tough Crowd, and The Colbert Report. For sixteen years, Amy considered her work with Colbert to be more than just a job. It served a purpose and allowed her the chance to prove to everyone that she was an outstanding colleague. She was beloved by everyone on the Late Show crew, and their loss will be heavy.
Amy jotted down the most considerate notes and kept track of the significant dates in your life. She was great at coming up with memorable nicknames and vividly reminiscing about funny times. Every child she met loved and appreciated her the moment they laid eyes on her. Even in the face of adversity, Amy never stopped expressing her thanks. Kathy and Warren Cole, Amy’s loving parents, her sisters Libby and Abby Miggins, her nieces Claire, Lucy, Cate, and Molly Miggins, her nephew Jack Clancy, and a large number of surrogate nieces and nephews are among Amy’s surviving relatives.
To everyone at Memorial Sloan Kettering who has been there for me through thick and thin, I am eternally grateful. On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2pm, there will be a memorial service held in Meyer Hall at St. Agnes Academy to celebrate Amy’s life. Giving to St. Agnes Academy (https://www.st-agnes.org/support-us/memorials-and-tributes), Radio Lollipop (https://www.radiolollipop.org/amy), or Donorschoose.org would be a fitting tribute to Amy’s lifelong commitment to children and education instead of flowers.
