Police are investigating the death of a woman who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Waterbury on Sunday.
The crash occurred in the area of 410 Reidville Dr. shortly before 9:15 p.m. when police responded to the report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department.
Morais said officers found a pedestrian, later identified as 43-year-old Sabrina Starkey of Waterbury, down on the roadway suffering from facial trauma.
According to Morais, Starkey was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.
The driver who was involved in the collision took off from the scene, Morais said.
The incident remains under investigation by the police department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
