Robert Russell Obituary – The general shop held by Robert Murray Russell’s parents, Walter and Rita, was located in Fort William, where the boy was born on November 7, 1940. Bob and Viola Dennis met at the Condill Hotel in Fort St. John, British Columbia, in the late 1960s. At this point in his life, he became a part of the Dennis family. Bob and Viola spent the remainder of their life together after moving to Fort Nelson, British Columbia, not long after they met.
Rock and mineral prospecting was Bob’s life’s work. Their discussion might go on for quite a while. Outside the A&W, Bob and his best friend Johnny would often have coffee when Bob wasn’t tending to his priceless collection. It all changed when Tim Hortons opened up shop in town and became their new hangout spot.
Please accept our sincere gratitude, on behalf of the Dennis family, for Mike’s unwavering support and for driving Bob to his cancer appointments. Bob has been reunited with his wife Viola Mercy Dennis and his beloved Russell family, and he is survived by numerous friends and family in Fort Nelson, BC.
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church will host Bob’s funeral on Tuesday, April 9 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Fort Nelson Cemetery.
