David Case Death – On Friday, March 29, 2024, David Lee Case, who had lived in Canyon his whole life, passed away. He was eighty-two years old. The funeral will be place in Canyon’s Dreamland Cemetery on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1 pm, in remembrance of the departed. The pastor of Living Water Christian Fellowship, Shane Nease, will preside over the ceremony. The Case children were born to Lloyd and Ethel (Parker) in Wichita Falls, Texas, on July 22, 1941. David, their son, entered this world. He earned certificates from both Wichita Falls High School and Texas Barber College after finishing his education at each.
Joy Lou Vines, a native of Dumas, and he were married in Amarillo on September 20, 1969. The newlyweds made Lubbock their permanent home after exchanging vows. They stayed there until 1975, when they uprooted to what is now the Amarillo–Canyon metro area. He enjoyed gardening with his devoted wife and father, whom he cared for in his latter years. He also made sure his dad was okay. They had a lot of fun bowling in a league, and he loved helping out in the garden whenever his dad was there. He played golf as a pastime and became extremely skilled at it throughout the course of his life.
Although David worked as a barber for a long time, he eventually started working for Falcon Sprinkler Systems and then left that job. He was an expert in many things, but two of them were carpentry and construction. He might have used his brainpower to accomplish anything, but he opted to work with his hands instead. David spent his retirement years working as a handyman in Canyon, where he also bought and renovated buildings in the neighborhood next to his house.
David and his pastor went to Mexico several times while he was a member of Canyon’s Living Water Christian Fellowship. Canyon was the site of Living Water Christian Fellowship. The pilgrims worked together to build churches and brought food and clothing to those in need as they traveled. At a young age, he realized that Jesus Christ was his own personal savior and that he believed in the resurrected Christ. He was a believer in Jesus Christ’s resurrection as well. Following in the footsteps of his parents and four siblings—Emma Jean Case Hale of Austin, Jimmy Case of Austin, Betty and Peggy Case of Lubbock—David lost his cherished wife of 44 years on November 23, 2011. His parents also passed away before David.
Cody Lee Case, one of his only children, was among the fortunate few who survived the attack. Case served his country for eleven years, from 1993 to 2006, and retired as a staff sergeant. Cody and Jennifer live in Florida; Melonie Case Wright, David’s only daughter, lives with her mother Barbara Oram in Frisco; Bob Hale is David’s brother-in-law; Perry and Roger Hale are nephews from Austin; Debra, Brenda, Sharon Case, and Paula Autry are nieces from Lubbock; and there are five grandchildren: Cheyann C. Jones, who is eleven years old and serving on the USS John S. McCain DDG-56, Joy Ann Wright of Waco, Summer Lee Ann Wright Barkley, Dennis David Dewayne Wright of Frisco, and Heavann Lee Wright, who also lives in Frisco.
