Connecticut may see a messy Monday morning commute as the state is still left digging out of Winter Storm Abraham.
A winter weather advisory will go into effect on 7 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. on Monday, according to AccuWeather. Meteorologists said much of the state can expect freezing rain with ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.
Ice is likely to make the roads slick and cause havoc during Monday morning’s commute, according to weather officials.
Portions of Connecticut northwest of Interstate 95 will see the greatest amount of rain and ice accumulation, weather officials said.
Weather officials are warning commuters to prepare for slippery road conditions Monday morning and exercise caution.
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute, especially northwest of the I-95 corridor,” according to AccuWeather.
