A 14-year-old is dead following a crash in Hartford on Christmas that left three others seriously injured and one driver unaccounted for after police say they left the scene.

The collision was reported at 9:18 p.m. on Cornwall Street just south of Hebron Street where officers responded on a report of a serious crash and found a green Toyota Camry and a black Tesla Cybertruck which had collided in the middle of the road, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

Boisvert said the driver of the Cybertruck fled the scene on foot.

Four people in the Camry were suffering from serious injuries and had to be extricated by crews with the Hartford Fire Department, according to Boisvert. They were each taken to an area hospital, where a 14-year-old passenger was pronounced dead, Boisvert said. His identity was not immediately released.

The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hartford Police Department Tip Line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
