Seven people were displaced following a fire at an apartment building in Hartford on Christmas morning.

Crews responded to 66 Webster St. at 2:56 a.m. following reports that smoke was coming from a window, according to the Hartford Fire Department.

The first firefighters on scene initially found “nothing showing” on three sides of the building before finding fire coming from a second floor window, fire officials said. The alarms in the four-story building had not gone off, so crews tripped them to help evacuate the structure, officials said.

Firefighters stretched three hose lines and used two of them to quickly knock down the flames, according to officials. The fire was confined to a second floor bedroom, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported.

Two families were left displaced following the fire, officials said. This included five adults and two children.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
