Maria Lawton Obituary – We have to give you the awful news. We deeply regret and feel terrible about the way we have acted. Maria Magdalen Lawton, who was born on May 23, 1965, passed away on April 3, 2024, having bravely fought the illness that finally took her life. The day she was brought into this world was May 23, 1965. We will always feel Maria’s absence in our lives, even though she was a dear sister, friend, and confidante. We will always carry her memories close to our hearts.
The journey that Maria took was characterized by bravery, resiliency, and an unyielding spirit that served as an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her courage and drive never faltered, and her spirit remained unbroken even in the face of adversity, despite the fact that her fight against illness was only a short one. Maria tackled each day with elegance and dignity, thanks to her unshakeable faith, which helped her navigate even the most difficult of circumstances. This was in spite of the difficulties she encountered.
Maria was a patient at the Hospice in Kent, and my wife Clare and I had the honor of paying her a visit in the days coming up to her demise. Maria was surrounded by love and support even in her dying days, despite the fact that the ‘C’ illness had taken its toll on her, depriving her of her vigor and mental clarity. Her spirit continued to shine brilliantly even throughout her final days. In spite of the fact that she might not have recognized us during her sickness, the love and connection that we shared with her remained unshakable, despite the fact that disease and pain were obstacles that she faced.
Maria had voiced her wish for a “Living Wake” prior to her decline in health. This would be a celebration of life that would celebrate the exceptional spirit that she possessed and the influence that she had on everyone who knew her. The celebration of Maria’s life and legacy took place toward the end of February, and it was attended by her friends as well as the medical staff who were devoted to her care. It was a demonstration of the enormous influence that Maria had on those who were in her immediate vicinity, the way in which her warmth, compassion, and kindness touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
There will be no typical burial service held in Maria’s honor because she expressed her desire for this. Instead, we will celebrate the wonderful life that she had and treasure the memories that we shared with her. This will be our private way of paying tribute to her memory. All of those who were fortunate enough to have known Maria will carry her spirit with them forever, with her laughter resonating in our memories and her love guiding us through the days that lie ahead.
While we are going through this challenging period, Clare and I would want to express our most sincere thanks to the compassionate medical professionals and volunteers who work at St. Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham, which is located in New York City. Maria received consolation and comfort in her final days as a result of their compassionate care and unflinching support, and we will be eternally grateful to them for that. Their generosity and compassion shone like a beacon of hope throughout the most difficult times of our lives, providing us with the strength and solace we required at the most crucial moments.
In this trying time, we would want to express our unending gratitude to everyone who has reached out to us with their condolences and support offerings. We have found solace and strength in the love, prayers, and kind words that you have sent our way during this time of mourning for the passing of our dearly loved Maria. Despite the fact that she is no longer visible to us, her legacy of love and generosity will endure for many years to come, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
During this time of saying goodbye to our beloved Maria, let us take solace in the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and that her spirit is now free to soar among the angels in heaven. Even though we may be saddened by her departure, let us not forget to rejoice in the wonderful life she had and the deep influence she had on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Dear Maria, may you rest in peace with the knowledge that you were profoundly loved and will be cherished and missed for all of eternity.
