Dr. Terry Brown Obituary, Death – A Reverend Serving the Anglican Diocese of Niagara Has Passed Away We wish to convey our deepest condolences to the Anglican Diocese of Niagara on the passing of the Right Reverend Dr. Terry Brown. This tragedy has been brought to our attention. Not only did Bishop Terry lead our worship during the absence of our priests due to vacations or illness, but he also presided over a burial, a baptism, and a confirmation of members of the St. Michael’s parish.
He was a much-loved friend to our Parish Family at St. Michael’s. Each and every one of us will miss his presence in a significant way. Remembering the life of Bishop Terry Brown It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the passing of the Right Reverend Dr. Terry Brown, which occurred over the course of the Easter festival weekend. There were a number of ministries that Bishop Terry served before he was elected to serve as the fourth Bishop of Malaita in the Anglican Church of Melanesia.
These ministries included serving as a divinity tutor and instructor at Trinity College, as well as serving as the Asia/Pacific mission coordinator for the Anglican Church of Canada. Bishop Terry was ordained in 1974 in the Diocese of Fredericton. This position was held by him from 1996 to 2008, when he finally decided to retire and return to Hamilton. During his retirement, he served as an associate priest at All Saints Church in Hamilton, as the bishop-rector of The Church of the Ascension in Hamilton, and most recently, he was appointed as an honorary assistant at Christ’s Church Cathedral in Hamilton.
Over the course of his fifty years of ordained ministry, Bishop Terry served the Diocese of Niagara, the Anglican Church of Canada, and the wider Anglican Communion with unwavering devotion.
It would be very appreciated if you would pray for Bishop Terry’s family, friends, and coworkers during this challenging time. On a later date, there will be a memorial service performed in his honor to commemorate his life, and the funeral arrangements will be communicated after they have been finalized.
