Police investigating nonfatal shooting in Hartford

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Hartford in the early morning hours on Monday.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Benton Street at 1:17 a.m. on the report of shots fired and found a gunshot victim, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition, Boisvert said.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Division responded to the scene to investigate. The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to Boisvert.
