Douglas Harris Obituary, Death – On March 30, 2024, at the age of 72, Douglas W. Harris, who was a well-known and respected figure in the city of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away. His parents, John and Emma Harris, welcomed him into the world on July 27, 1951, in the city of Hamilton. His adventure of service began in the United States Air Force. Not only did Doug continue to serve his community after his time in the military, but he finally retired from his position with the City of Hamilton. On the other hand, retirement did not slow him down; rather, he became a treasured presence at Gina’s Italian Restaurant, where he enjoyed the company of his close friends.
Doug extended his enthusiasm for life to include his interests. As a fervent supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was a sports fanatic who was passionate about the team. Through activities like as fishing, playing cards, and going to auto shows, he was able to find consolation and joy in his life. His comfort and laughter came from listening to music and watching black-and-white comedy.
In addition to his interests, Doug had a strong connection to the neighborhood in which he lived. Along with being a member of AMVETS Post 1983 and the Monkeys Mutual Aid Society for life, he was also an active participant in a variety of social circles, which resulted in the formation of connections that would last a lifetime. His children Angela, Patricia, April, and James, along with their mother, El, are the ones who will carry on Doug’s legacy. All of those who were fortunate enough to have known him will celebrate and remember his life, which was full of simple delights, companionship, and acts of service.
