Will it be a White Christmas?

There could be some snow on the ground. As much as an inch of snow is expected in the Hartford area on Tuesday but none is expected on Christmas Day on Thursday, according to forecasts.

Wind wholloped the state Friday and Saturday, knocking out power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses. Eversource had 2,194 outages remaining just before 1 p.m. Sunday. It had restored 85,000 customers as of Saturday afternoon.

The remainder of Sunday is expected to be sunny in Greater Hartford with the temperature dropping to around 33 degrees by 5 p.m. with a northwest wind between 11 to 15 mph and maximum gusts of 26 mph. Sunday’s low is 22 degrees, according to AccuWeather.

Monday is also expected to be sunny with a high of 36 and a low of 26. There is a chance of snow after 2 a.m. with little or no snow accumulation expected. There is a 30% chance of precipitation.

On Tuesday, AccuWeather calls for snow before 1 p.m. and then rain and snow likely between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and then rain after 2 p.m.

The high on Tuesday is expected to be around 39 degrees with a 90% chance of precipitation and around an inch of snow accumulation is possible.

On Tuesday night, there is a chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m. and a chance of snow between 7 p.m. and midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30% and little or no snow accumulation is expected, according to AccuWeather.

Wednesday, Christmas Eve, is expected to be sunny with a high of 38 with northwest winds as high as 24 mph gusts. Wednesday night is a low of 25 degrees with a light wind, according to AccuWeather.

Christmas Day is forecasted by AccuWeather to be cloudy with a high of 40 degrees and a chance of rain between 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with a chance of rain after 2 a.m.
