A man in his 50s died after being struck by two cars while he was attempting to cross Albany Avenue on Saturday night, according to the Hartford Police Department.
Police responded to the area of 799 Albany Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. First responders found the man unresponsive in the road. The man was transported to an area hospital where police said he later died from his injuries.
Police said the man entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Albany Avenue. Then he was struck by a second vehicle that was traveling westbound.
The driver of the first vehicle involved remained on the scene, the westbound vehicle fled but was later located, according to the Hartford Police Department.
The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded and continues to investigate.
