Joseph Laporte Obituary, Death – On Sunday, March 17th, Joseph A. Laporte, who was 87 years old, died away peacefully after going through a brief illness. Michael Laporte and his wife Margaret, both of Worcester, are his sons. Barbara (LaBree) Laporte, Joseph’s wife of 67 years, is also a member of the Laporte family. He is the father of Rosemary Peloquin, who resides in Worcester. In addition, Joseph is survived by his sister Marie Laporte and her girlfriend Carol Houde of Sterling, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Several members of his family, including two of his siblings, Al and Theresa, as well as a son, Joe Laporte, Jr., and two grandchildren, John Barnett and Rochelle Laporte, passed away before him. Years were spent by Joseph serving in the United States Navy.
Golf, hunting, and fishing were all activities that he enjoyed doing very lot. Accolades were bestowed upon Joseph and Barbara by the state of Massachusetts in honor of the work that they have done to promote and educate people about fishing. He was a devout member of the church and worked as a CCD teacher at St. Catherines of Sweden in Worcester for a number of years for a duration of several years.
Family and friends will be able to pay their respects to Joseph by paying a visitation at Mulhane Home for Funerals, which is located at 45 North Main Street in Millbury. The visitation will take place on Sunday, March 24th, from 3 to 5 o’clock in the afternoon. On the 25th of March, at eleven in the morning, his funeral service will be held at St. Brigid Church, which is located at 59 North Main Street in Millbury. During the burial, there will be a private ceremony that takes place.
