Alicia Ramos Obituary, Death – A Tribute to Alicia Ramos, Although Alicia “Lisa” Ramos spent the majority of her life in Jacksonville, FL, she was born to Vanderbilt and Hattie Mae Duck on June 15, 1959, in Pascagoula, MS. Pascagoula High School was her alma mater. She was a summer league softball player when she was a teenager. William Ramos, the man she would marry, was stationed at “The Navy Lakeside Manor” pub in 1979, where they met.
There was an instant spark, and on March 6, 1981, two years later, they tied the knot. She gave birth to three children, spaced two years apart, as a result of their love. She found her greatest satisfaction in being a mother, which brought forth her best qualities. After years of saving, she finally bought a house in 1999, fulfilling her American Dream. Lisa was proud of her role as a homemaker and her devotion to her family. An vast garden surrounded her home, reflecting her appreciation for flora.
She had a zest for life, loved to bake, and enjoyed the kitchen. Her Christmas celebrations were legendary for their spectacular decorations, mouth-watering cuisine, and plenty of belly laughs. Crafting blankets out of crocheted yarn, sewing, listening to music on a turntable, and dancing to the beat are some of her hobbies. Lisa felt compelled to aid the less fortunate, particularly the children in her area, as a way to give back to her community.
With the support of her loving family, she shown remarkable strength in the face of adversity and had a miraculous recovery following surgery for lung cancer in 2014. Still, she fought every day to the best of her abilities as her health deteriorated in late 2022. The Lord welcomed her home on July 9, 2023.
You will be missed, Mom. You will always be remembered as the pillar of strength for the Ramos family.
