When we were informed of this information, each and every one of us here at Veterans Bereavement Support UK was overcome with an enormous feeling of despair. We were all gripped by this feeling. Because George served in the military for an incredible 44 years, beginning his career as a deck boy when he was 16 years old and retiring as a pilot on his 60th birthday, we borrowed the curtain from the Merchant Navy for his burial.
This was due to the fact that George’s career began when he was 16 years old. This was because George had spent more than half of his life serving in the military. This was the reason for this. Considering that George would be laid to rest in the Merchant Navy, we decided to borrow the curtain in order to accommodate his funeral.
This was done in order to demonstrate respect for George’s duty responsibilities, which was done in recognition of the fact that George had served in the military for such a significant amount of time. It was with the goal of paying tribute to the accomplishments that he had achieved that this objective was realized. This was done in order to recognize the great military career that he had pursued throughout his entire life.
