Joseph “Pete” Lloyd Death – At the age of eighty, Joseph Harlan “Pete” Lloyd, who resided in Richwood, West Virginia, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, on March 29, 2024.
His mother, Hazel Talbert, passed away before Pete’s birth on May 25, 1943 in Richwood, West Virginia. He was a passionate collector of a wide variety of items, including tools, knives, watches, coins, and other items.
He had a passion for the great outdoors and enjoyed activities such as golfing, hunting white-tailed deer and turkey, and digging ramps. To put it simply, he was a self-starter who never met a stranger. During the course of his career, he had positions at a number of different companies, including BF Goodrich, Sewell Coal Company, Beckley Coal Company, and Smoot Coal Company, among others.
In addition to being a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be sorely missed by all of these people. Eddie Dale Talbert and Roger Dale Talbert, his two brothers, passed away before him. His mother was also among those who came before him in death.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Ruby Ellen Bunting Lloyd; four children, Joseph “Joey” Lloyd and his wife, Angie, of Nettie, West Virginia; Lori Ann Phillips and Chad Tinney, of Braxton, West Virginia; Brian Keith Lloyd, of Richwood, West Virginia; and Chandra and her husband, Steve Bailey, of Craigsville, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Billy Joe Phillips and his wife, Caren, of Summersville, West Virginia; Kaitlyn Lloyd, of Oklahoma; Kori Danielle and her husband
Kelby Mink, of Oklahoma; Hannah Bailey, of Craigsville, West Virginia; Kristina and her husband, Eric Miller, of St. Albans, West Virginia; Ashley and her husband, Nick Hall, of Summersville, West Virginia; and Haylie and her husband, Tyler Truman, of Beckley, West Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Huxen Mink, Oklahoma, and Maxton Joseph Lloyd, Oklahoma Everett Miller resides in St. Albans, West Virginia; Evelyn Miller resides in St. Albans, West Virginia
Bradley Hall resides in Summersville, West Virginia; Tristan Truman resides in Beckley, West Virginia; and Edison Miller resides in St. Albans, West Virginia; five siblings, Janice Hammons resides in Richwood, West Virginia; Patricia Bennett resides in Richwood, West Virginia; Colleen Robinson resides in Virginia; Larry Talbert resides in Richwood, West Virginia; and Tina Talbert resides in Richwood, West Virginia; and two close friends.
