Jamie Orlowski Obituary, Death – James Orlowski, who resided in Carlton, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the age of 89. He was a patient at the Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. His birth took place in Duluth in the year 1927, and his parents, Constantine and Stephanie Orlowski, were overjoyed to welcome him into the world. The wedding took place in the city of Duluth on November 8, 1952, and Jim and Jo Anne Polasky were the happy couple.
Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean War and in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Other than that, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Having worked as a welder at Barnes Duluth Shipyards for a short period of time, he went back to his prior position as a millwright at US Steel, where he remained for the subsequent time period of thirty-three years.
Fishing was one of his favorite activities, and he said that he was “able to fix anything but a broken heart.” He was certain that he could fix anything.
In the year 1994, Jim and Jo Anne were riding on a tour bus that was en route to Branson when Jim unexpectedly gained control of the vehicle with which they were driving. The bravery that Jim shown in this act was admirable. After the bus driver passed away while driving, the efforts that he made prevented a certain calamity from taking place during the course of the event. In spite of the fact that he was a hero, Jim maintained a humble attitude toward his actions, stating, “I did what anyone else would do.”
His parents, his daughter Tricia Schaefer, his brothers Theodore, Art, Lawrence, Henry, Alex, and Edmund, his sisters Irene Warring and Gertrude Johnson, and his son-in-law Dick Paul all passed away before him. He was the only surviving member of his immediate family for his family. In contrast, Jim is survived by his wife, Jo Anne; his children, Cathy Bryan (and her husband Michael) of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; Mike Orlowski (and his wife Barbara) of Carlton; Susie Caulfield (and her husband Bruce) of Woodbury; Cyndie Kalsnes of Forest Lake; Stephanie Orlowski of Lakeville; Tim Orlowski (and his wife Kim) of Carlton; Lisa Brusseau (and her husband Shannon) of New Prague; a large number of grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews in addition to a large number of great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
