Lorraine Weikel Death – On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Lorraine ‘Rain’ Gail Weikel, who was 63 years old and a resident of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, passed away in a calm and serene manner at her residence. She was surrounded by her devoted family. She was the daughter of Carl W. Nelson, Sr. and Winifred P. (Clark) Nelson, both of whom passed away before her birth. She was born in Chester and lived in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania.
Joseph Samuel Weikel was the cherished spouse of Lorraine, and the couple had been married for thirty years. Lorraine was a valued wife. The year 1978 marked Lorraine’s graduation from Sun Valley High School, and the year 1982 was the year that she received her nursing license from Methodist Hospital. Lorraine is a committed professional.
As a result of her dedication to learning, she attended Immaculata University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2015 and a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2020 to complete her nursing education. Lorraine worked as an intensive care unit nurse at Methodist Hospital, which is now known as Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, located in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, throughout her whole career.
Later on, she moved into a position of leadership as a nurse manager, where she served as a mentor to a large number of younger nurses and served as an inspiration to them. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of patients, staff, and members of the community equally despite the fact that her influence was not limited to the confines of the medical environment.
As a devout member of the congregation at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, Lorraine discovered that her faith provided her with both comfort and fortitude. In addition to her professional achievements, she was a tremendously talented cook, and she treasured the time she got to spend with her immediate family. In addition to being her daily companion, her cherished dog, Fitzy, offered her an incredible amount of joy.
Both Lorraine’s loyal husband, Joseph, and her daughter, Samantha Elena Weikel, who resides in San Francisco, California, are the only people who will remember her. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, including Carl W. Nelson, Jr. of Milton, Delaware and Lynn Marie Galbraith (Bill) of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
St. Thomas the Apostle Church will be the location of a visitation on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, beginning at 9:15 AM and continuing until 10:15 AM. This will be followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM. Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania is going to be the location of the burial. Instead of sending flowers, memorial contributions can be donated to the American Cancer Society in Lorraine’s honor. These gifts will be appreciated.
