A devastating workplace shooting at the KDC/One warehouse in New Albany, Ohio, has resulted in two fatalities and four injuries. Authorities have identified one of the victims as 30-year-old Shakhar Chapagai, who was pronounced dead at a Columbus hospital late Wednesday night.
The second victim was found deceased at the scene, though officials have not yet released their identity. The violent attack unfolded late Tuesday night at the facility, located in an industrial area of Licking County.
Police have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Bruce Reginald Foster III, an employee at KDC/One. Reports indicate that he had been working his shift as usual before suddenly opening fire, creating panic among the approximately 150 employees present at the time.
Authorities stated that there were no prior arguments or signs of unusual behavior leading up to the shooting. Due to the regular noise inside the warehouse, some workers remained unaware of the unfolding tragedy until law enforcement arrived.
Following the shooting, Foster fled the scene using a rideshare vehicle, sparking an urgent manhunt. After 12 hours of searching, authorities located him in the Weinland Park neighborhood of Columbus, near The Ohio State University campus. He was taken into custody without incident.
Foster has been charged with one count of aggravated murder and is scheduled to appear in Licking County Common Pleas Court in Newark at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. Officials have not yet provided updates on the conditions of the injured victims.
