Three people charged in residential burglary in New Fairfield

Three people were arrested in connection with in a residential burglary in New Fairfield on Wednesday evening.

Troopers and New Fairfield police officers responded to a report of an active break-in at Lamont Road just after 5 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police.

When they arrived at the scene they found a vehicle believed to be used by the suspects and took 46-year-old Shona Chase of Pawling, New York, into custody, state police said.

One person took off on foot and was apprehended following a brief foot chase, state police said. He was identified as 46-year-old Jared Brown of New Milford, according to state police.

Police also received the report of a suspicious man in the area as they were investigating. State police said they found the man nearby and apprehended him after finding that he was allegedly involved in the burglary. He was identified as 29-year-old Justin Walker of Pawling, New York, according to state police.

Walker was charged with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit possession of burglary tools and criminal attempt to commit interfering with an officer. He was initially held on a $50,000 bond and was arraigned on Thursday in Danbury Superior Court on Thursday.

According to court records, Walker remains held on a $30,000 bond and is due back in court on March 17. He has pleaded not guilty, records show.

Chase faces charges of criminal liability for acts of another for third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary. She posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge on March 18.

State police said Brown has been charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and first-degree damaging railroad property. He was held on a $60,000 bond and was expected to appear Thursday in Danbury Superior Court, according to state police.
