Police investigating death of man found in water at boat docks in Norwalk

The body of a man was recovered from the water at the boat docks in Norwalk on Wednesday.

Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call around 9:14 a.m. reporting a man in the water at 50 Water St., according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.

Officers from the Patrol Division, along with the Marine Unit, were dispatched to the scene, where they located an adult man in the water at the boat docks, Podgorski said.

Officers determined that the individual was dead at the time he was located, according to Podgorski.

Detectives from the Norwalk Police Department’s Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Marine Unit, recovered the man from the water. The identity of the man was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Podgorski said.

The incident remains under active investigation by the Norwalk Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
