A serious crash involving a pedestrian shut down parts of Interstate 95 in Fairfield early Friday morning.
Troopers responded to a car vs. pedestrian collision around 2:20 a.m. on I-95 South near Exits 22 and 23, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Multiple media outlets reported that the pedestrian was killed after being struck by the vehicle. State police would only confirm that serious injuries were reported.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to state police.
