Man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds following shooting in Waterbury

A man was taken to a hospital following a shooting in Waterbury on Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the report of shots fired in the 1900 block of N. Main Street at 11:18 a.m. and found that the shooting was an “isolated incident” that stemmed from a disturbance involving two people, according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department.

One person was taken to an area hospital for several non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, Morais said. He has been listed in stable condition.

Morais said the investigation remains active and is being handled by patrol officers and members of the Detective Bureau.

“The area is determined to be safe and there is currently no active threat,” Morais said in a statement.
