A Connecticut man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl to drug dealers in Bridgeport.

Christopher Santiago-Rosado, 32, of Bridgeport was also sentenced to four years of supervised release during a hearing on Thursday in federal court in New Haven, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

The sentencing came after Santiago-Rosado in November pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 40 grams or more of fentanyl, federal officials said. He is free on $150,000 bond and is expected to report to prison on March 26.

According to authorities, Santiago-Rosado was implicated as members of the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department investigated an open-air drug market that was operating in the area of Noble Avenue and Shelton Street in 2024.

Between March and September 2024, investigators made 11 controlled purchases of narcotics from various sellers, officials said.

During an investigation which included court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance, authorities said they found that Santiago-Rosado and others supplied fentanyl to the drug sellers. Santiago-Rosado was charged in the case in February 2025.
