State police have identified a Norwich woman who was fatally stuck by an SUV on Route 2 in Preston last week.
Troopers from Troop E in Montville responded to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash around 6:54 p.m. on Feb. 13, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Troopers located a silver Subaru Outback pulled over in an eastbound lane, state police said. The driver, a 61-year-old man from Scituate, Rhode Island, and his passenger, a 55-year-old woman from Scituate, Rhode Island, remained in the vehicle and were uninjured, according to state police.
Troopers learned that a woman, later identified by her husband as 33-year-old Mirlande Etienne, was walking on Route 2 when she was struck by the Subaru. She was transported to William W. Backus Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, state police said.
The crash remains under investigation, according to state police.
