I usually only bet on horses, but I’m willing to sacrifice. At 90, my vertical leap is a negative number, but I have been a fan of UConn basketball since moving to CT in 1962.
This year’s team is an exceptional group of talented players, but their defense fouls too much, Smith dribbles too much and our shooting percentage often tanks.
I admire Karaban; he will be a great coach someday. The Big East is no test for other college teams; the rough style of play does not match up with the execution of other top college teams.
However, I will be rooting hard for the team and against my dollars. Go UConn, if you can?
