Firefighters rescued an injured goose that was trapped on ice in Branford on Monday.
The rescue took place in the area of Branford Point where crews responded on the report of a goose possibly in distress and stuck in the ice, according to the Branford Professional Firefighters IAFF 2533.

Firefighters with the Branford Fire Department used a drone to assess the animal and confirmed that it was unable to free itself and appeared injured, fire officials said. Two firefighters in ice rescue suits navigated the icy conditions and removed the goose from the ice.

Crews confirmed the animal was injured and turned it over to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter for treatment, fire officials said.
