Norwich police have brought a 31-year-old Maryland man to Connecticut to face charges next month of trying to entice a minor online into sex.

Investigators have not released details about what Anthony Guevara allegedly did, said it involved him engaging in sexually explicit online conversations with someone underage.

Court records indicate that the charges stem from incidents on Jan. 8, 2025. A Connecticut judge later signed an arrest warrant, and late last month the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Guevara in Olney, Maryland.

Guevara waived extradition, and on Thursday detectives from Norwich traveled to Maryland, took custody of him at the Montgomery County jail and brought him to Connecticut.

He’s currently held at the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center on $175,000 bond while awaiting a court appearance March 17.

He is charged with three felonies: Enticing a minor by computer, misrepresenting age to entice a minor, and risk of injury to a minor. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of harmful communication with a minor.
